Tim Flowers hailed Coventry's strike duo of Michael Mifsud and Dele Adebola as The Sky Blues won 3-1 at Stoke.

Mifsud and Adebola were both on the score sheet at The Britannia Stadium, with the former helping himself to two goals.

Liam Lawrence scored Stoke's goal, but The Potters were unable to compete with the front men for Coventry.

Handfuls

"Michael has what defenders hate - raw, blistering pace," assistant manager Flowers said.

"We have to have a word with him because sometimes he goes a bit early, but when he times it right he generally scores.

"He is making a name for himself, he's a really nice lad, and he always has a smile on his face.

"Dele is a major handful. He's a big, mobile lad."

Lawrence's goal came from the spot, and Stoke manager Tony Pulis felt his side could have had at least another penalty.

Ryan Shawcross also had a header ruled out by the officials, despite the ball appearing to cross the line.

Unlucky

Pulis said: "I'm not blaming the referee but I thought there were three big decisions that should have gone for us.

"In the build-up to their first goal there was a foul; for Ryan's ball over the line even their players had stopped; and we should have had a penalty, the lad was kicked up in the air.

"But you need good fortune sometimes and we didn't get it."
