Paterson: Could be in demand

Nigel Adkins insists there has no been no bid from Norwich City for Scunthorpe United striker Martin Paterson.

Norwich have been strongly linked with a move for Paterson following Scunthorpe's relegation from the Championship.

Paterson has impressed during his debut season at Glanford Park, and Iron boss Adkins is aware he may have to rebuff further interest in the Northern Ireland international.

"Norwich have not been in touch with us at all," said Adkins.

"I've spoken to his agent and to Norwich, but media speculation will abound throughout the summer.

"The reality of football is that clubs try to sign good players from other clubs.

"We bought Martin Paterson from Stoke reserves and he's been a revelation, he's scored 14 goals, so you have to keep going out there and try and bring good players in all the time."
