Sidibe: Helped Stoke get up

Mamady Sidibe is hoping to open talks with Stoke City over a new contract.

The Malian forward has played a huge part in helping The Potters achieve automatic promotion into the Premier League for the first time.

The popular African marksman is not a prolific scorer, but has been essential to Stoke's style of play and is a firm fans favourite with the Britannia faithful.

"Mamady wants a new deal and the way he has played this season I don't think many people would disagree he does not deserve one," his agent Gregory Dakad told skysports.com.

"The fans love him and Mamady loves it at Stoke - they have been perfect for each other.

"We are looking to have talks before next season."

Sidibe is reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs from England and France - but the former Gillingham and Swansea star is desperate to pen a new deal with Stoke.

The 28-year-old has two-years left on his current contract.
