Earnshaw: Wants Wales return

Nottingham Forest new boy Rob Earnshaw hopes his move to the City Ground can help him win his place back in the Wales squad.

Earnshaw was left out of the last two Wales squads for the recent friendlies against Iceland and Holland after struggling to establish himself at Derby.

The former Cardiff hit-man is now determined to get a run of regular action at Forest and impress Wales boss John Toshack.

"I have had a great career for Wales so far and if I am here playing every week that goes along way because there is not a lot of people playing in the Wales squad," Earnshaw told Sky Sports News.

"After that if I am scoring goals it is business as usual then."

Backing

Earnshaw is Forest's most expensive signing in seven years after completing his £2.65 million switch earlier this week and Forest boss Colin Calderwood believes it is money well spent.

Asked if Earnshaw was worth the fee, Calderwood said: "Definitely because as was proven in any league last year goals are probably the most important facet of the game and we have given ourselves a great chance with Robert joining the arsenal we have already got at present."
