Roberts: Experienced full-back
Gareth Roberts, Sam Hird and Jason Price have all committed their short-term future to Doncaster Rovers.
The news will come as a timely boost to Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll, who had feared that the trio would leave the club at the end of their current deals.
All three would have been free agents this summer but have decided to pledge their allegiance to the club they helped secure promotion to the Championship last season.
Former Liverpool trainee Roberts, who has penned a two-year deal, joined Doncaster in the summer of 2006 and has become an established member of O'Drsicoll's first-team plans.
The veteran full-back made over 40 appearances for the club last season and is regarded as something of an unsung hero at Keepmoat Stadium.
His fellow defender Hird moved to Rovers from Leeds last June and spent a period on loan at League Two Grimsby during the 2007/08 campaign.
However, he forced his way into contention on his return from Blundell Park and played a key role in the play-off final victory over Leeds in May, earning himself a two-year contract extension.
Experienced winger Price has agreed a 12-month deal, keeping him at the club until at least next summer.
He joined Rovers from Hull in January 2006 and scored eight goals during their successful promotion bid last season.
