Flahavan: Impressed by Palace

Darryl Flahavan has signed a three-year deal with Championship side Crystal Palace.

The keeper underwent a medical at Selhurst Park on Tuesday and has now completed the formalities of his move.

He was released as a free agent by Southend at the end of last season, ending an eight-year association with the Shrimpers.

He is delighted to have tied up the deal and is excited by the prospect of joining a forward thinking club.

"Just a few weeks ago my agent rang me up and said there was interest from Crystal Palace," he told Palace's official website.

"He then said for me to come down and speak to Neil Warnock and I was really impressed with what he said.

"After I spoke to him I knew I wanted to come here."
