Mifsud: Transfer request
Maltese club Valletta FC have played down speculation linking them with a move for wantaway Coventry City striker Michael Mifsud.
The former Kaiserslautern and Lillestrom forward is on the lookout for a new club after handing in a transfer request at the Ricoh Arena.
Bristol City were close to landing the 27-year-old, however the deal collapsed after the Robins failed to agree personal terms.
It had been suggested Mifsud could seek out a return to his homeland, but Valletta FC president Victor Sciriha has ruled out bidding for his services.
"There is no truth in this story," he told the Malta Independent.
"We never contacted Michael and he or his agent have never contacted us."
