Tyrone Mears has completed his shock move to Marseille from Derby County.

The full-back has agreed a season-long loan deal at Stade Velodrome, as revealed by skysports.com.

Mears provoked outrage last week when he travelled to France to undergo a trial at Marseille without the permission of Derby.

Angry Rams boss Paul Jewell said Mears would never play for the club again while he was in charge following the incident.

Mears has now secured his dream move to the South of France after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

The former Preston and West Ham man will spend the season on loan at Marseille and the French club have the option to make the move permanent.

Mears, who will battle with Laurent Bonnart for place at right-back, could face Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.
