Doyle: Keen to play his part
Kevin Doyle is keen to help Reading secure a swift return to top-flight football after missing out on a move away from the Madejski Stadium.
The Republic of Ireland international had been linked with moves away during the transfer window, with Everton credited with an interested in the striker.
Doyle had wanted to be playing in the Premier League, but has no qualms about staying in the Championship for now and doing his best to help Steve Coppell's side secure promotion at the first attempt.
"I'd love to be playing in the Premier League," he told Sky Sports News. "I've said that all along.
"I thought I was going to get my chance again, but it's up to me now to help Reading get back up as soon as possible.
"It's not a place I hated and that I wanted to leave or anything, but I wanted to play in the Premier League.
"We'll be working hard to get us back there.
"It didn't happen in the end. Things have to be right and it wasn't."
