McGugan: Thigh problem
Lewis McGugan expects to be back in action for Nottingham Forest inside three weeks.
The teenage midfielder has been nursing a thigh injury since the Reds' 3-1 defeat at Swansea on 16th August.
However, he is stepping up his rehabilitation and hopes to be back in Colin Calderwood's plans in the near future.
"It's a case of being patient," McGugan told the club's official website.
"I'm desperate to get back playing again but the last thing I want is to make the injury worse and risk being out for a longer period.
"It's really frustrating because the same sort of thing happened to me at the start of last season and I missed a lot of games.
"But hopefully, if I am careful, then I should be back a lot sooner this season than I was last.
"I was hoping to be back after the international break but the Burnley game (on 13th September) might come a little bit too soon for me.
"I'm probably looking at the Charlton match (a week later) but it is important that I'm fully recovered first."
