Nick Chadwick has joined Cheltenham on trial as the League One strugglers look to bolster their attacking options.

The former Everton striker has been without a club since leaving Plymouth in April, with a trial spell at Walsall failing to yield a permanent deal.

Chadwick scored for Town in a behind-closed-doors 4-1 friendly victory over Team Bath on Monday, and will continue to train with the club as he looks to earn an extended stay.

Town boss Keith Downing will continue to monitor Chadwick's form in training but has ruled out a future move Plymouth striker Jermaine Easter.

The Welsh international is on the transfer-list at Home Park due to unspecified 'domestic problems', but Downing admits the player is out of his price range.

He told The Plymouth Herald: "The fee they (Argyle) are looking for is very big but I think it was right for me to look at players of Jermaine's calibre. I know him from our days at Wolves and strange things can happen, but the fee and his wages would be too high for us."
