Byfield: O'Driscoll praise

Striker Darren Byfield has been tipped to be a key man for Doncaster this season.

The forward moved to the Keepmoat Stadium from Bristol City over the summer but has been hampered by a hernia problem.

He made his first appearance for the club as a second-half substitute against Coventry and then struck in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Leeds.

Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll believes there is much more to come in the Championship from his summer acquisition.

O'Driscoll said: "It was only a brief glimpse of Darren last week but he gave people an idea of what he's about.

"He's done it at this level and he has pace and experience and he has a key role to play here with what he offers us.

"It was good to see him score in midweek and he'll be pushing hard for a place."
