Craig Levein insists he has no interest in filling the managerial void at Championship side Watford.

The Scot is currently in charge of SPL outfit Dundee United and has reiterated his desire to remain at Tannadice for the foreseeable future.

Watford made an approach for his services last weekend, as they look to find a replacement for the ousted Aidy Boothroyd.

However, their search looks set to continue after failing to tempt Levein away from his homeland.

"Watford came in at the weekend and made an enquiry," the Terrors chief told the Scottish Sun.

Really attractive

"It's a big job, but I wasn't the slightest bit interested.

"No disrespect to Watford, but I won't be leaving United unless I get the boot or something really attractive comes up."

Levein's only previous experience of life in England came with Leicester between November 2004 and January 2006, but he admits that the prospect of managing in the Premier League in the future still appeals.

"I'm still a hugely ambitious person and want to manage at the top level," he added.

"But I like it here and I'm happy, which is a big thing for me."
