Championship leaders Wolves are continuing to look into a strategic alliance with Hungarian outfit Ujpest FC.

Chief executive Jez Moxey says there may be 'potential' in such a link-up with the Budapest-based club.

His comments come after representatives from Wolves recently travelled to the Hungarian First Division club.

Senior members from Ujpest are now set to visit Molineux on a fact-finding mission, including watching Mick McCarthy's side in action against Derby and Barnsley next week.

Four of the club's best young players will also join in training with Wolves' Academy.

Exploratory discussions

Moxey told the Championship side's official website: "We have had some initial exploratory discussions in Budapest with the officials of Ujpest FC and are looking forward to welcoming them to Wolverhampton.

"Our initial discussions touched on the issues of loaning players, football academies and the development of young talent, Champions League football, scouting and recruitment in Europe and the sharing of best practice both on and off the field.

"We think there may be potential for some kind of alliance between the two clubs."
