Crystal Palace defender Claude Davis has contested a Football Association charge of violent conduct.

The Eagles ace, who is on loan at Selhurst Park from Derby, was made aware of his punishment on Wednesday and had until 6pm on Thursday to lodge an appeal.

He has chosen to take up that right after denying any wrongdoing.

The charge relates to an incident involving Davis and Cardiff's Roger Johnson during a Championship fixture on 11th April.

A FA regulatory commission will listen to the case on Friday before any further action is taken.
