Fry: Posh frustration
Director of football Barry Fry feels Peterborough deserve to be sitting well clear of the Championship drop zone.
Newly-promoted Posh were expected to struggle this season and are third-bottom after 13 league games.
But had it not been for some contentious offside decisions against Darren Ferguson's men then they could be sitting in mid-table.
Posh have recorded just one league win so far, which Fry believes is not a fair reflection of their performances this term.
"We have been disappointed with the amount of points that we have picked up this season, but Craig Mackail-Smith's had four goals disallowed that were all onside when we've seen them afterwards," Fry told skysports.com.
"Darren's had a couple of apologies from referees about them but it doesn't get you any more points on the board.
"One of the goals was in the last minute against QPR and he was clearly three yards onside, which would have been a late winner. Another would have given us a 2-0 lead over Crystal Palace, which we went on to draw 1-1, so all-in-all those decisions have cost us around seven or eight extra points.
"We feel that we are sitting in a false position at the moment, but time will tell whether we are right to feel that."
Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at Doncaster means Posh have taken just one point from the last 15 but Fry reckons they would be much better off if video technology was introduced to the game.
"Technology would definitely have helped our cause because there is no margin for error if that was to be brought into the game," he added.
"The goals would have counted and we'd be seven points better off, but that is football I guess."
