Queens Park Rangers boss Jim Magilton felt his side got what they deserved in their 2-1 defeat by Leicester on Friday.

Rangers had entered the game buoyed by three consecutive victories, but were far from their best in front of a lively home support.

They took the lead through Adel Taarabt, but came unstuck as the Foxes hit back through a brace from Matty Fryatt.

Magilton was forced to admit afterwards that his players had allowed their standards to slip after their recent fine showings.

"It was a home game and we expect to win our home games, but you have to give the opposition credit," he told Sky Sports.

"I thought they played very well and deserved their victory, even though they didn't have to work very hard for their goals. We got our just rewards."

A horrendous mistake from goalkeeper Radek Cerny gifted Fryatt his winner, but Magilton refused to blame the Czech shot-stopper for the result.

Composure

"Our goalkeeper has been excellent, he's very good with his feet and after that he showed great composure," he said.

"But as much as we didn't get carried away with our recent run of form, we aren't going to get carried away by one loss.

"It's now about how you bounce back, how you respond, and we have got a home game now on Tuesday night (against Crystal Palace)."

Magilton admits complacency may have filtered into his side and he is hoping his team will now bounce back positively from their first defeat at Loftus Road since March.

"We didn't do our jobs defensively," he added.

"We probably turned up thinking that it was going to be a continuation from the Derby game (a 4-2 win), when we had loads of possession, but we didn't work hard enough.

"We had passages of play where we did move the ball, which led to Taarabt's goal, but overall I'm sure the players will use that disappointment to greater effect."
