Ferguson: Pleased with signing
Josh Simpson admits it is a 'dream come true' to join Peterborough United after completing his loan move from Histon.
Skysports.com revealed earlier this week that Simpson was poised to sign for Posh after impressing manager Darren Ferguson on trial.
He has linked up with the Championship club until the end of December and is expected to be in the squad for Saturday's game at Newcastle United.
"It has been a whirlwind for me in the last couple of weeks and to be a Peterborough player is a dream come true, and it is very surreal that I am looking forward to a game at Newcastle," Simpson told the club's official website.
"I just want to impress, I enjoy getting forward and playing in behind the strikers, and I hope that I can show the supporters what I am about, but I am willing to be patient and wait for my opportunity."
Peterborough boss Ferguson is happy to have added Simpson to his squad and will now step up his efforts to bring in a new striker.
Ferguson said: "Josh is a player that has been on the radar for a little while and having seen him at close hand in the friendly a week or so ago, we felt it was important to offer him a trial and see him in training.
"He impressed greatly and I am pleased to have him on board. He can play just behind the strikers or on the right-hand side of midfield and gives us good options.
"We are still looking to get a striker in, but it is difficult. I would say that the players that we are looking to bring in now are ones that we feel will go into the starting line-up."
