Former Birmingham co-owner David Gold reveals he is interested in a takeover of Crystal Palace.

Gold left St Andrews in October after 16 years at the club following the arrival of new Blues owner Carson Yeung, and he wants to return to football as soon as possible.

The businessman has previously expressed his desire to take control at Upton Park, while also being linked with Palace and Charlton.

However, with the Hammers' asking price thought to be at £120million and with the club surrounded by debt and uncertainty, Gold may decide to change his plans.

He has also been linked with a move for Championship outfit Palace, as he looks to operate at a club in the London area, and admitted that he would be interested in moving to Selhurst Park.

"Simon Jordan (Palace chairman) called me and we had a very pleasant conversation but I am taking my time before I come to any sort of decisions," he said in the Croydon Advertiser.

"I am interested in big clubs and I consider Crystal Palace to be a big club.

"It is the club closest to my home and everyone knows I don't want to go north of Watford."
