Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll says he would love to make the signing of Billy Sharp a permanent one.

Sharp is on a season-long loan at the Keepmoat Stadium and has been in fine form since his summer move from Sheffield United.

The 23-year-old striker has netted 10 goals in 15 games in the Championship so far this season and scored in the 2-0 win over Derby on Saturday.

O'Driscoll hopes the forward can keep up his excellent run in front of goal, although conceded another bid for Sharp would have to be significantly increased.

Terrific

"Billy's been terrific for us and hopefully he will be terrific till the end of the season," he said in the Daily Star.

"I'd love it to be permanent but any bid I put in will probably have to have another couple of noughts on it."

Rovers moved into the top half of the table with the win at Pride Park and their next game is against Coventry on Boxing Day.
