Ipswich Town's Arran Lee-Barrett is hoping to resolve his future over the next week.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has become a mainstay in Town's backline in recent matches after Richard Wright picked up an injury.

Since taking over, Lee-Barrett has kept three clean sheets - but his current deal is due to expire in a matter of weeks and he is keen to see the situation resolved.

"I knew that, if given the chance, I would prove that I can play at this level and I believe that I have done that," he said.

"I turned down opportunities in the summer for more money to prove that point when I left Hartlepool.

"Hopefully, the manager will see me as part of his long-term plans and offer me the chance to continue playing here as I have enjoyed it so much.

"Hopefully my future is with Ipswich, but if it isn't then hopefully I have done enough to secure a long-term deal with another club that has noticed my performances.

"My agent has told me that a few clubs are keen, but I have told him to see what Ipswich say first because I love it here."

Talks

And Keane has confirmed that he is pleased with Lee-Barrett and is ready to talk terms with him.

"We'll be speaking to Arran over the next few days," said Keane.

"I've been delighted with Arran. The boy's taken his chance, again on Saturday he had a good presence and hopefully we'll sort something with Arran because he deserves it. He's done really well for us."

Lee-Barrett will also have further competition at Portman Road from now on as Town have finalised the capture of Bohemians goalkeeper Brian Murphy.

Murphy was out of contract with his club and has now signed an 18-month contract after agreeing terms last year.
