Neil Warnock has refused to rule himself out of the running for the vacant managerial post at Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls have been without a manager since parting ways with Brian Laws in mid-December.

Various names have been offered up as potential candidates for the role, with Warnock a surprise inclusion among them.

The outspoken coach is currently in charge at Wednesday's Championship rivals Crystal Palace, but has strong connections with their arch-rivals Sheffield United.

Warnock spent eight years in the Bramall Lane hot-seat before walking away from his boyhood idols in the summer of 2008.

Possibility

During his time with the Blades he successfully guided the club into the Premier League, while he was also quoted as saying that he would love nothing more than to see Wednesday relegated.

However, he insists he would have no problem in crossing the Sheffield divide and taking charge at Hillsborough, were the opportunity to present itself.

"Would me taking over at Wednesday be a possibility? Of course it's a possibility, why not?" says Warnock in the Evening Standard.

"A job's a job and if you need a job you need a job."

His current club Palace are in dire financial difficulty and Warnock, along with the players, have had the payment of their wages delayed several times this season.
