Peterborough United's on-loan defender Scott Griffiths is keen to get his permanent move to London Road completed after settling in well with the Championship strugglers.

The promising full-back joined on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge in October with a view to a permanent deal.

Griffiths has made nine appearances for Posh so far and he told skysports.com that his permanent transfer should be completed in the near future.

He said: "As far as I am aware, all the paperwork is in place for me to complete a permanent move here in a couple of weeks' time, so hopefully they won't change their mind.

"They haven't indicated so far that they want to cancel the deal, so everything is going well on that front.

Opportunity

"If I wasn't getting a lot of game-time then it would be a different story because every player wants to play and the game at the weekend (against Spurs in the FA Cup) was one to savour.

"To line up against a quality Spurs side like that in a fantastic stadium was amazing and I thank the club for giving me that opportunity."

The Championship strugglers were comfortably beaten by Tottenham in the FA Cup at the weekend, but Griffiths believes that they can take heart despite the 4-0 defeat.

"Any Premier League ground is fantastic, but the noise inside the stadium was deafening and it was a just a tremendous experience overall," he added.

"They are a quality side and it was always going to be hard to contain them, but we didn't embarrass ourselves."
