Blackpool have brought in Huddersfield defender Andy Butler on loan until the end of the season.

The Tangerines needed cover in central defence with Ian Evatt and Rob Edwards due to serve suspensions.

Now manager Ian Holloway has secured a deal for Butler - who has started 10 league games for Huddersfield this season.

"It all happened really quickly," Butler told the club's official website.

"I said I was interested in the move and I then got a phone call saying that I would be going to Blackpool until the end of the season.

"I'm really happy with the move. It's a weird one because I've gone a step up, but it's something I'm hoping to thrive on. It looks a good club and I'm happy to be here.

"Hopefully I can play as many games as I can and help this club where it wants to go, which is the Premiership, I suppose."
