Angel Rangel is planning to meet with Huw Jenkins following his recent criticism of the Swansea City chairman.

Spanish full-back Rangel was unhappy that he missed out on a deadline day move to Fulham and claimed the Premier League club had met Swansea's asking price.

Jenkins responded to Rangel's comments by stating that Fulham had only made an offer to loan the 27-year-old with a view to a possible permanent deal.

Rangel stands by his view that he wanted the chance to discuss a move to Craven Cottage, but insists he is happy at Swansea.

Misunderstanding

"The only thing I can say is that there has been a misunderstanding so the best thing I can do is see the chairman, have a conversation and sort things out like that," Rangel told the Evening Post.

"We have different points of view and something's wrong so we'll see what that thing is.

"I showed my frustration, I think that was obvious, but I never said I didn't want to play for Swansea City.

"I said that if there was an offer from a Premier League club I'd like to consider it, but in this case I didn't have any chance to discuss things.

"But I have to respect the club, I have to respect the fans and everything because Swansea City have given me the chance to be here and I'm very pleased with that.

"Fulham are obviously a massive club and I think every player would like to go and play in the Europa League, the fifth round of the FA Cup and the Premier League.

"It would have furthered my career, but that is in the past and now I have to refocus and I'm concentrating 100 per cent on getting my place back in the team."
