Ipswich have confirmed they have appealed to the Football Association over defender Damien Delaney's red card against Scunthorpe.

The Tractor Boys grabbed a last-gasp 1-0 win over the Iron as teenage debutant Connor Wickham scored from the bench at Portman Road.

Earlier in the game, Republic of Ireland international Delaney was shown a straight red by referee Pat Miller for bringing down Scunthorpe's Jonathan Forte on the halfway line.

Manager Roy Keane was clearly unhappy with the decision and has now confirmed the club have appealed to the FA over the decision.

"We've had a look at the DVD and the club are now in the process of appealing," Keane told the club's official website.

Keane will have to wait on the outcome of a FA disciplinary hearing before naming his side to take on Watford at Vicarage Road on Tuesday.
