Rory Patterson has moved to dampen a row that is threatening to develop over his recent spell training at Plymouth.

It had been claimed Patterson had pitched up at Home Park on trial, despite having signed a pre-contract agreement with Glentoran back in Northern Ireland.

Patterson has proven a revelation since joining Coleraine last year, with his return of 26 goals in 25 appearances earning him a move to Glentoran.

However, to the ire of Glentoran chairman Aubry Ralph and his Coleraine counterpart Hugh Wade, Patterson travelled down to Plymouth without informing either party.

Patterson, though, insists he was only at the Championship club to train and is eager to draw a line under the affair.

"It was just training," he told the Belfast Telegraph.

"I was asked to go over and train. I don't have any second thoughts about going to Glentoran.

"I've signed what I've signed and I don't know what the big hoohah is about. It was just a couple of days training."
