Swindon Town chairman Andrew Fitton has expressed his frustration at waiting for Portsmouth to respond to an offer for Matt Ritchie.

The Robins are keen to bring Ritchie back to the County Ground and have made an offer which reportedly could rise to £200,000.

The winger made four substitute appearances on loan for Swindon last season, but Fitton says Pompey have yet to make a decision on his club's bid.

"Everybody knows that we've got an offer in for him, but we still haven't had a reply from Portsmouth," Fitton told the Swindon Advertiser.

"It only takes two fingers to type no and three to type yes, so it is frustrating, but eventually you just have to take silence as an answer in itself.

"We are past the point of chasing up the offer, and if they (Portsmouth) want to pick up the phone to us then of course we will talk about Matt Ritchie. But I am not going to keep phoning them.

"He is now somebody I'm not going to hold my breath for. We want him, but it has taken so long and we want an answer."

Ritchie is a player in demand as Notts County, where he spent the first half of last season, have also made an enquiry.

Medicals

Meanwhile, skysports.com understands Celtic duo Simon Ferry and Paul Caddis are set to undergo medicals at the County Ground on Monday as they look to tie up their moves to Swindon.

Swindon have agreed a fee with Celtic for the pair and the young duo are believed to have agreed personal terms to join the Robins.
