Jason Scotland has completed his move to Ipswich Town from Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

Skysports.com revealed on Monday that the 31-year-old striker was all set to seal a switch to Portman Road, and that deal has now been pushed through.

The Trinidad & Tobago international has penned a one-year contract with Ipswich and could make his debut in Tuesday's Carling Cup clash with Crewe.

Scotland is pleased to have finalised the move and hopes he can hit the ground running with his new employers.

"I am delighted to have joined Ipswich Town and look forward to trying to help the club get into the Premier League," he told the club's official website.

Career

Scotland began his career in British football at Dundee United, taking in two years at Tannadice before joining St Johnstone in 2005.

He then moved to Swansea City in 2007 and enjoyed a goal-laden spell with the Welsh outfit, notching over 50 times in all competitions.

His fine form soon drew Premier League interest and he followed former Swans boss Roberto Martinez to Wigan in 2009.

He struggled to make an impact at the DW Stadium, though, and will be hoping to get his career back on track at Ipswich.
