Derby County are hoping to have tied up a deal for Alberto Bueno before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

The Rams are keen to bring the Real Valladolid forward on board and believe they are closing on an agreement.

The 22-year-old, who is a product of the famed youth system at Real Madrid, was in attendance to see Derby draw 2-2 with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Bueno and Valladolid president Carlos Suarez were then given a tour of the club's training ground on Sunday, when a move was discussed in more detail.

Productive

It is believed that Derby are looking to reach an agreement which will see the player move to Pride Park on a season-long loan.

"We have enjoyed productive talks with the player and Real Valladolid and hope for an outcome before the transfer window closes," said a Derby spokesman.

Bueno made three appearances for the Real Madrid first team. He joined Real Valladolid for around £3million a year ago and signed a five-year contract.

He made 20 appearances in the Primera Liga last season, but Valladolid were relegated out of the Spanish top flight.
