Swansea City have revealed they have taken goalkeeper Yves Makabu-Makalambay on trial for a week.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper is looking for a new club after being released by SPL outfit Hibernian in the summer, following three years in the Scottish capital.

Makabu-Makalambay was on the books at Chelsea as a youngster but did not make one first-team appearance for the Blues during four years at Stamford Bridge.

However, he played 64 times for Hibs and the DR Congo international, who was born in Belgium, now has the chance to prove his worth at the Liberty Stadium.

As the athletic keeper is a free agent, there was no need to complete a deal before the end of Tuesday's transfer window and the Swans can now take their time on a decision.
