Andy Keogh has admitted he is looking forward to learning from fellow striker Craig Bellamy at Cardiff.

The Republic of Ireland international joined the Championship outfit from Wolves last month on loan, ten days after Bellamy stunned many by moving to his hometown club on a year-long deal from Manchester City.

The Welsh striker had been arguably one of City's finest players last season, but due to disagreements with manager Roberto Mancini and a lack of first-team opportunities, he decided to take a step down to the second tier.

Despite enduring what has been a colourful career at some of Britain's biggest clubs, Bellamy's talents are not in doubt, and Keogh is clearly looking forward to linking up with his new team-mate.

"Of course there is. You just have to watch him and see how he is," Keogh said when asked if there were things he could learn from Bellamy.

Great signing

"I have only had one day's training, but I am sure there will be a lot I can learn because you don't play at the highest level like he has and not have something good about you.

"As I said, I have only had one day training and a bit of game-time last Saturday, but I am looking forward to getting into it and training with players of that calibre.

"It can't do you any harm, training with a top player. He's a great signing.

"There is a lot of attention, obviously, because of the high profile, and rightly so because there are a lot of good players there.

"We have a great chance of contending to go up there, and that was one of the reasons that made my decision easier."
