Luciano Civelli and Damien Delaney have given Ipswich a boost by returning to action with the reserves.

Argentine winger Civelli made his first appearance at Portman Road for 18 months as the club's second string lost 2-0 to Oxford.

Civelli damaged knee ligaments at Burnley in March 2009 and his recovery was put on hold over the summer because of a jarred knee.

However, he came through 45 minutes against the League Two outfit in a game which also saw Delaney come back from injury.

The defender suffered a blood clot in July following a routine challenge and has not featured for Roy Keane's side this campaign.

Troy Brown's own goal and a Richie Baker volley gave Oxford the win.
