Skysports.com understands that Bristol City are ready to join the battle to land Middlesbrough's Andrew Taylor.

Cardiff City joined the chase for Taylor last week, as revealed by skysports.com, following Malky Mackay's appointment in South Wales.

Boro remain keen to keep their homegrown product, and Tony Mowbray used him extensively following a loan stint at Watford under Mackay.

Mowbray deployed Taylor in a midfield role, where he flourished in the latter part of the season.

But Boro cannot match Taylor's current wages at The Riverside and have now offered him reduced terms.

Now, along with Cardiff, Bristol City are set to make their move for the 24-year-old.
