Jensen: Was wanted by New York Red Bulls back in April
Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen claims Major League Soccer club New York Red Bulls expressed an interest in signing him back in April, but insists he has no plans to leave Turf Moor.
The Dane, who has a year remaining on his Clarets contract, has revealed the American side tried to tempt him with a move across the pond.
But the 36-year-old says there has been no further contact, and insists he is committed to Burnley.
"It was in April, before their transfer window closed," Jensen told Onside.dk.
"So it was a long time ago and I've not heard anything about it here and now.
"I'm a Burnley player. It's Burnley who own me and not vice versa, but obviously you never know in football."
Jensen, who arrived at Turf Moor from West Brom in 2003, has recently returned to pre-season training with the rest of the Clarets squad.
The keeper hopes Burnley can better last season's eighth-placed finish and contend for a play-off spot this term.
"We have a chance to make the play-offs, but we were probably bigger favourites last year," he added.
"We have the squad to do it, but now we have to see if we can make it when it's trickier."
