McSheffrey: On target again

Garry O'Connor and Gary McSheffrey were again on the scoresheet as Birmingham City continued their pre-season trip to Austria with a 3-1 win over Czech side Viktoria Plzen.

O'Connor scored his second of the week and McSheffrey, who netted from the spot, his third before Mehdi Nafti added the final goal in the second half.

Blues boss Alex McLeish included trialists Zola Matumona, a 20-year-old FC Brussels midfielder, and French centre-back Yamoudou Camara, 20, while new signing Marcus Bent watched from the sidelines.

Sheffield Wednesday wrapped up their tour of Holland with a second successive win as they beat Stormvogels Telstar 3-0.

Marcus Tudgay and Deon Burton were both on target for the second game running as they headed the Owls into a two-goal lead.

A third goal in an eight-minute burst mid-way through the second half from Jermaine Johnson completed the victory.

Ipswich Town continued their impressive tour of Ireland with a 4-1 victory over Donegal Celtic.

Alan Quinn scored twice for the second game running, including a spectacular long-range effort to round off the night.

Owen Garvan had earlier put Ipswich ahead for a second time after James Lavery had cancelled out an own-goal for the hosts and with winger Gary Roberts again impressing Town took their tally to 11 goals in two games.

New Spanish striker Gorka Pintado bagged a hat-trick for Swansea City as they beat Welsh Premier League side Port Talbot 4-0 in a 45-minute game at Richmond Park.

On-loan Espanyol midfielder Jordi Gomez scored the other to claim his first goal in a Swansea shirt.

Roberto Martinez's side then took on Carmarthen for a further 45-minute work-out and won 3-0 with another hat-trick, this time from Guillem Bauza who completed the Spanish bombardment.

Crystal Palace were also among the goals but League Two new boys Aldershot gave them a decent game on Neil Warnock's return to one of his former clubs as Palace ran out 4-3 winners.

Meanwhile, Motherwell went down 2-1 to Romanian side CFR Cluj in Austria.
