McLeish: Keen on adding to squad
Birmingham boss Alex McLeish refused to be drawn on reports linking him with Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson.
Watson is looking to leave Selhurst Park after turning down the offer of a new deal at Palace.
Queens Park Rangers, Birmingham and Nottingham Forest are all chasing the former England Under 21 international.
Birmingham are believed to have tabled a new improved bid for Watson, but McLeish was remaining coy on his interest.
"Yeah I am looking to do something before the start of the season and I am still working on one or two things and we hope to make an announcement to the Birmingham fans as soon as possible," McLeish told Sky Sports News.
When asked about a move for Watson, McLeish relied: "There is a few names, I don't want to say yes or say no to any name.
"I think the policy we use at the club is until the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed then that is when we will tell you if we were interested in a certain player, but we are looking at one or two current situations."
