Nafti: Out for fortnight

Birmingham City's midfield options have been further depleted after Mehdi Nafti picked up a hamstring injury.

Nafti suffered the problem during Saturday's 2-1 win at Southampton and was replaced before half-time at St Mary's.

He has been ruled out for a fortnight, with Blues boss Alex McLeish confirming the Tunisian has suffered a muscle tear.

"Scans have shown that Mehdi has got a Grade One tear," McLeish told the club's official website.

"It's a very small tear and Tim Williamson (the head physiotherapist) says clinically it's not bad.

"It's high up his hamstring where the muscle meets the tendon and Tim thinks a couple of weeks, so that's a blow for us."

McLeish is already without Damien Johnson due to a back problem and new signing Kemy Agustien following a hernia operation.
