Shao: Seeking New Year move
Jiayi Shao is confident he has done enough to convince Birmingham boss Alex McLeish to sign him this January.
The Energie Cottbus midfielder spent the last few weeks on trial at St Andrews, and caught the eyes of the coaching staff with a sublime 30-yard goal against Cheltenham Town in a reserve friendly.
"I was happy with my performances. I think I have achieved the goals I set prior to coming here," said the China international.
"Birmingham are to contact me as to whether they want me or not. I am not anxious about the wait.
"My job was to perform well and now the club's task is to make the transfer decision."
The 28 year-old has struggled to make an impact at Cottbus since moving from 1860 Munich in 2006.
His contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he is available for a nominal fee.
