Johnson: Ready for top flight test
Roger Johnson has completed his £5million move from Cardiff to Birmingham City.
The centre-half, who has agreed a three-year deal at St Andrews, becomes the most expensive defensive purchase in the Blues' history.
The 26-year-old has been widely regarded as one of the finest talents outside the top flight for some time, having made impressive progress at Ninian Park since his switch from Wycombe in 2006.
He was a virtual ever present for the Bluebirds last season, as they narrowly missed out on a play-off place, and was named in the Championship team of the year for the 2008/09 campaign.
Johnson is hoping to carry that fine form into the Premier League and has revealed his delight at joining Alex McLeish's ambitious plans at Birmingham.
"I am really pleased to be here," he told the club's official website.
"Birmingham are a massive club and I am looking forward to putting the shirt on to be honest.
"Premier League football is the dream at the start of any footballer's career so I am pleased I have been given that chance with Birmingham and I can't wait to get started.
"The aim is to stay in the Premier League with Birmingham and hopefully I will have a big part to play in that. I want to do well for the club.
"At both clubs I have been at I have got on well with the fans and hopefully that will continue here."
