Carsley: Returns to Coventry
Coventry City have completed the signing of former midfielder Lee Carsley on a one-year deal from Birmingham.
The experienced 36-year-old will return to the Sky Blues following a two-year spell at the club between 2000 and 2002.
Since leaving Coventry, Carsley went on to have a successful stint at Everton before joining Birmingham in 2008.
Last season he only started five games for the St Andrews outfit and has opted to move to the Ricoh Arena.
Carsley follows Gary McSheffrey, Roy O'Donovan, Stephen O'Halloran and Richard Keogh to Coventry and manager Aidy Boothroyd is pleased with the capture.
"Lee has a track record as a winner," he told the club's official website.
"He is a leader and has played at the highest level and knows what is required to win on a regular basis.
"Any good team needs a balance of talent, experience, physical presence, pace and, obviously, footballing ability.
"I want Lee to be the glue that binds the team together because he has all of those."
