Leeds United have begun life under new manager Dennis Wise with a hard-fought win over Southend while leaders Cardiff City were held to a 2-2 draw by Derby County.
Leeds forged ahead thanks to a rare Ian Moore league goal and the home side rode their luck before substitute Robbie Blake made sure of the points late on.
Leaders Cardiff twice took the lead against Derby at Ninian Park, but were forced to settle for a point after being held 2-2 in South Wales.
