Steve Bruce has named 12 'home-grown' players in his Sunderland squad for the 2010/11 campaign.

With the summer transfer window having closed for business, Premier League managers had until 5pm on Wednesday to piece together their selections.

They were free to choose up to 25 senior stars, of which at least eight had to have been registered with the English or Welsh FA for three seasons or 36 months before turning 21.

Black Cats boss Bruce had no problem abiding by that criteria, while he has left one spot open by only selecting a 24-man squad.

Sunderland's summer acquisitions, including record signing Asamoah Gyan, all make the cut, with big things expected of them following a busy window at the Stadium of Light.

Northern Ireland international David Healy is included in Bruce's plans, despite struggling to make an impact in the North East over the last two years.

Premier League clubs are allowed to use as many players under the age of 21 as they like, without having to name them in their squad, so the likes of Jordan Henderson, David Meyler and Danny Welbeck can also be included in the Black Cats' ranks.

Sunderland squad: Marcos Angeleri, Phil Bardsley, Darren Bent, Titus Bramble, Fraizer Campbell, Trevor Carson, Lee Cattermole, Paulo Da Silva, Ahmed Elmohamady, Anton Ferdinand, Craig Gordon, Asamoah Gyan, David Healy, Steed Malbranque, George McCartney, John Mensah, Simon Mignolet, Nedum Onuoha, Andy Reid, Kieran Richardson, Cristian Riveros, Michael Turner, Robbie Weir, Boudewijn Zenden.
