Rams pick up Edworthy

Derby have snapped up former Norwich defender Marc Edworthy on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old has been looking for a new club after being released by Norwich at the end of last season.

Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth had been linked with the full back, but Derby have moved quickly to lure him to Pride Park.

Edworthy is the second new face at Derby this week after the loan signing of Andrew Davies from Middlesbrough.

The pair could be joined by Nottingham Forest defender John Curtis.

Rams boss Phil Brown is thought to be pondering a move for the former Manchester United trainee as he looks to strengthen his defence.

Meanwhile, Forest are reported to be closing in on the signing of Queens Park Rangers defender Gino Padula.

Forest boss Gary Megson is busy trying to rebuild his squad after suffering relegation from the Championship and he is hoping to bring Padula to the City Ground.
