Albrechtsen: Derby move
Martin Albrechtsen has become Derby's eighth signing of the summer after joining from West Brom.
Paul Jewell revealed on Monday that he was close to concluding a deal for the Danish defender, who had been offered a fresh contract by the Baggies.
Albrechtsen has now put pen-to-paper after choosing Derby over a number of other clubs.
Jewell is thrilled to have further strengthened his squad and believes Albrechtsen will be a big success at Pride Park.
"Martin is a player who had a lot of options with some very good clubs," Jewell told the club's official website.
"He has chosen to join us and that speaks volumes about the pull and ambition of Derby County.
"He is a quality centre-half and has a proven pedigree at gaining promotion to the Premier League."
Derby have already signed Kris Commons, Nathan Ellington, Jordan Stewart, Paul Green, Paul Connolly, Ruben Zadkovich and Steven Davies since the end of last season.
