Hulse: Looking forward
Rob Hulse is looking forward to a 'fresh start' at Derby after leaving Sheffield United in a £1.75million deal.
The striker has signed a three-year contract at Pride Park as manager Paul Jewell looks to build a squad capable of bouncing back to the top flight at the first attempt.
Derby returned to the Championship after only one year as they were relegated as the worst team in the history of the Premier League last season.
And Hulse, who has also had spells with Leeds and West Brom, is now looking forward to the challenge of securing Championship promotion.
"I'm coming to a massive club in Derby," Hulse told Sky Sports News.
"They have a massive fan base and have a good chance this year. It is an exciting fresh start."
Hulse has also confirmed that he decided to leave United after being told by manager Kevin Blackwell that first-team opportunities would be limited.
"It felt like it was time to move on for me," added Hulse.
"He (Blackwell) said that he wouldn't stand in the way if a club comes in and that I wasn't perhaps one of his first-choice strikers.
"That's fair enough that happens sometimes in football and it was a case of Derby coming in and I jumped at the chance because I just wanted to get things going again."
