Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage has agreed a one-month loan deal with Brighton.

Savage has fallen out of favour with Derby manager Paul Jewell and has played in only three Championship games this season.

Last week, Brighton boss Micky Adams voiced concerns that he had missed out on Savage, but the Wales international has now agreed a move to the Withdean Stadium in order to secure first-team football.

The deal sees former Leicester City, Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers star Savage drop down to League One, and Adams recognises he has landed an experienced player.

"We're delighted to have Robbie here," Adams - who worked with Savage at Leicester - told Brighton's official website.

"It means we have even more competition for places in the side.

"He's a terrific character on and off the pitch and having worked with him before, I know the sort of quality he'll add to the team."
