Ipswich will hope for a return to winning ways when they welcome Derby to Portman Road in the Championship.

Prior to last weekend's shock defeat to rock-bottom Doncaster, Jim Magilton's Tractor Boys had gone six games without defeat to ease pressure on their manager.

Magilton had come under fire following a disappointing start to the season and the former Northern Ireland international will hope the loss at Doncaster was only a blip.

Battle

Derby, though, sit level on points with their weekend opponents and Paul Jewell's side will hope to record a victory to boost their cause in the battle to return to the Premier League.

Magilton is waiting on Gareth McAuley before naming his squad after the defender missed the 1-0 Doncaster defeat with a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski could again be rested after playing for Macedonia against Moldova on Wednesday night so Darren Ambrose could play after returning to the club on loan from Charlton.

Ivan Campo is likely to miss out after he was made available for loan, while forward Danny Haynes is fit again after an abductor muscle strain.

Derby news

New signing Darren Powell is expected to be included in Derby's squad after Jewell signed the 32-year-old former Crystal Palace and Southampton centre-back on a two-month deal.

First-choice central defensive pairing Martin Albrechtsen and Dean Leacock are likely to remain sidelined with calf and groin injuries respectively.

Their replacements, Lewin Nyatanga and Claude Davis, have both been on international duty this week, leaving Jewell hoping that they return unscathed.

With Rob Hulse's rib problem ongoing, Jewell could continue to rotate his strikers.

Hulse started alongside Emanuel Villa as the Rams beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at Pride Park last week, but Nathan Ellington is pushing for a recall.
