Preston manager Phil Brown has revealed that a deal is close to being finalised for Congolese striker Juvhel Tsoumou.
The 20-year-old has spent the early part of his career in Germany, playing for Alemannia Aachen last season having come through the youth ranks at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Preston invited him for a trial during pre-season and he has performed well enough to earn a move.
A two-year contract has been agreed and international clearance is all that needs to be sorted before he officially becomes Brown's fifth summer signing.
Impressed
Tsoumou holds a German passport which means he does not need a work permit.
Brown told the Evening Post: "The lad has put pen to paper although the ink isn't dry yet.
"We've got international clearance to sort out so it isn't finalised, but we hope that can be done soon.
"He's been on trial with us and we are suitably impressed with him."
