Notts County and Charlton will both seek to build on opening day wins when they clash at Meadow Lane on Saturday.
Both were 3-0 winners in the division's opening round of fixtures and currently occupy the top two positions in the embryonic League One table.
Preston slipped to a surprise opening day defeat to Colchester last Saturday and needed a last minute winner to knock out League Two side Crewe in the Carling Cup in midweek. Manager Phil Brown will hope for an improved performance as well as a result against Scunthorpe at Glanford Park.
Another Lancashire v Yorkshire contest can be found at Spotland, where Rochdale take on Lee Clark's Huddersfield.

Bournemouth bounced back from their opening game defeat to Charlton with a 5-0 Carling Cup rout of Dagenham and Redbridge at Dean Court. On Saturday they welcome Sheffield Wednesday, who knocked Championship side Blackpool out of the competition on penalties in midweek. Wednesday's city rivals Sheffield United meanwhile play host to Brentford at Bramall Lane.
Wycombe and Colchester needed penalties to decide who progressed in the Carling Cup in midweek following an entertaining 3-3 draw at Adams Park. The Chairboys eventually won the shoot-out 5-4, but United will have an early chance for revenge when the two sides meet again at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Leyton Orient also needed penalties to progress at the expense of Southend in midweek but host Tranmere looking for their first points of the new league campaign.
Carlisle currently occupy the bottom position and will be seeking their first points and goals of the new league season when they travel to Bury.
Hartlepool will look to bounce back from a Carling Cup penalty shoot-out defeat to Sheffield United with a win over Walsall at Victoria Park.
Stevenage earned their first ever League One point with a goalless draw at home to Exeter last week but go hunting for a first win at fellow newly promoted side Chesterfield.
Exeter host MK Dons with both sides having a point and a Carling Cup win under their belts while Oldham travel to Yeovil with both teams looking to bounce back from successive defeats so far this season.
